KINLOCH VILLAGE GOLF CLUB HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Kinloch Village Golf Club is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees, members, contractors, and visitors.

Safe working practices have been implemented across the course, and all players are expected to follow the guidelines below to prevent injury to themselves, staff, and other players from golf balls and equipment.

A golf course can be a hazardous environment, so players must remain vigilant at all times to avoid accidental injury.

Clubhouse

  • Take care on steps, especially when carrying clubs, parcels, or other goods.

  • Exercise caution when carrying food and drinks, particularly hot liquids.

  • A First Aid kit is available at the clubhouse, in the cabinet housing the defibrillator.

  • The defibrillator is located outside, left of the entrance to the clubhouse.

  • In the event of a fire or emergency alarm, all visitors must evacuate immediately and follow the instructions of the Duty Club member.

Course Environment

  • When crossing the road to / from the 1st tee or 4th green, look both ways for traffic at the roundabout. Do not cross carts or trundlers on the roundabout.

  • Beware of flying golf balls when traversing from the 1st tee to 1st green, and from the 4th tee to the 4th green. The respective fairways are narrow and parallel to one another.

  • The slope from the 1st green to the 2nd tee can be slippery when damp.

  • The bank on the left of the 1st green is steep, as is the bank on the left of the 2nd fairway under the pine tree, and is also slippery from pine needles.

  • Take heed of signs alerting players to hazards on the course.

Golf Carts

  • Persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to drive golf carts.

  • Be aware of course staff and workers - exercise caution when approaching work areas and maintain a safe distance when driving near them.

  • Drive golf carts responsibly - do not drive close to or onto greens, bunkers, or tee areas.

  • Take extra care when traveling downhill, as the course has several slopes. Exercise extreme caution at all times.

  • Golf carts are driven at the driver’s risk. Any incidents must be reported within 24 hours.

Players

  • The Green Keeper always has the right of way.

  • Golfers must take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of all people on the course.

  • Do not hit a golf ball if another player or worker is within striking distance of where your ball may land.

  • Always call “FORE” if your ball is heading towards another person.

  • Do not hit a golf ball unless you can clearly see its flight path and landing area, ensuring no one is within range.

  • Maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters from other players when taking a practice swing.

  • Players are to stand behind the player addressing the ball on the tee.

  • Please note that the Kinloch Village Golf Club clubhouse area is a SMOKE-FREE facility.

  • All near misses, incidents and accidents must be reported to the Club Secretary.

Work Risks

Fairways & Rough Maintenance

  • Players must wait for approaching maintenance vehicles or mowers to pass behind or be out of range before playing. Alternatively, the operator may signal for players to continue.

    Greens Maintenance

  • If staff are working on a green and the flagstick is not in the hole, players must not hit up to the green until the flagstick is replaced and the area is clear. Alternatively, staff may signal players to continue.

 Spraying

  • The use of pesticides, fungicides, and other chemicals is essential for course maintenance. Warning signs will be displayed on the starting tee when hazardous chemicals are in use. Members and visitors should be aware that playing on the course during or after spraying is at their own discretion.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at Kinloch Village Golf Club.
